Boer War

The Irish Guards did not serve during the Boer War 1899 - 1902 as a whole unit. However a number of Micks did serve as part of the Guards Mounted Infantry during the latter stages of the war.

Boer War - Roll of Honour

 Private John Byrnes

 Pte John Byrnes belonged to No 1 Company Mounted Infantry. He died on the 13th February 1902 due to wounds received at Uitspanfontein on the 5th February 1902. He is buried in the RC section of the Beaufort West Cemetery, South Africa.

Private J H Cairns

Pte J H Cairns belonged to No1 Company Mounted Infantry. He was Killed in Action at Uitspanfontein on the 5th February 1902. He is buried on the farm De Pannen at Uitspanfontein.

Private J McDermott

Pte J McDermott belonged to No1 Company Mounted Infantry. He was Killed in Action at Uitspanfontein on the 5th February 1902. He is buried on the farm De Pannen at Uitspanfontein.

Private E Prendergast

Pte E Prendergast belonged to No1 Company Mounted Infantry. He was Killed in Action at Uitspanfontein on the 5th February 1902. He is buried on the farm De Pannen at Uitspanfontein.
